CONAN TO RELEASE FIRST FULL LENGTH ALBUM

Caveman Battle Doom Lords CONAN and European purveyors of fine riffs BURNING WORLD RECORDS-  mothership of Roadburn Records and home of musical heavyweights Gnaw Their Tongues, Lustmord and A Storm of Light-  have joined forces for the release of CONAN’s first full length album.

This leaden slab of doom is due to be recorded towards the end of the year at the renowned Foel Studio, with producer Chris Fielding. The album is scheduled for early 2012. The release will follow on from the success of 2010’s devastating  Horseback Battle Hammer (Throne Records / Aurora Borealis Records) and the current release, a grim black hole of tone in the form of a split with Northern Ireland’s Slomatics (Head of Crom Records).  CONAN slay all with a compelling mix of devastating drones and warhorse-gallop crust to drive home their brutal intention and wrestle victory from the jaws of chaos.

Europe’s heaviest battle-sloths may have found their finest ally in Burning World Records…

Beecher call it quits!

Beecher have announced that they will be playing no further shows together and there will be no new material; they are once again calling it a day.

The band were signed to Earache Records, releasing two albums and touring extensively before splitting up in 2005, they reformed to play three shows earlier this year, but have so far remained non-committal as to what the future may hold for them. Frontman Ed Godby explains:

When we knocked it on the head in 2005 our personal lives were in various states of disarray and we had no inclination to continue with things. Several years on, lives sorted out a bit and the urge to pick up where we left off was strong- so we planned a few shows to see how we felt about the whole thing. The shows were fantastic- especially London and our hometown show in Manchester, but instead of feeling like a new beginning, it felt like an appropriate full stop to all things Beecher.”

Ed has a new band called Castles who will be recording their debut album with Chris Fielding at Foel Studio, Wales this summer. Dave, Mark and Danny are in the early stages of a new band together, with Danny also playing in Day For Airstrikes. Dan Shaw currently plays in The Ergon Carousel and Pine Barrens. Updates will be available on all new projects via Beecher-online.com

Beecher merchandise is still available from www.beecher.bigcartel.com for a limited time.

Beecher would like to thank: Kamran Haq, Jamie Farrell, Iain Slomo Scott, James at the Borderline, Andrew Maughan, Nicholas Duke, Phillip Torriero, Rob Heilig, Martin Ives, Becky at Pioneer Music Press,  Mark Forrer,  their family and friends and everyone who came to a show or bought their music.

ALICE COOPER Live At The 100 Club June 26th 2011, 100 Oxford Street, London PLUS - HALLOWEEN NIGHT OF FEAR OCTOBER SHOWS + NEW YORK DOLLS *( 27-31 OCT ONLY) WANTED: FREAKS & FIRE STARTERS - June 27th

Alice Cooper plays his most intimate gig in decades, taking it Old School with a hot, sweaty all out rock ‘n’ roll attack on the legendary 100 Club on June
26th.
A rare chance to witness one of most exciting, visceral acts in rock history up close and highly personal, Alice brings the astonishing band that blew away
Download Festival last weekend.
Alice is giving fans a taster of his October Halloween Tour ‘Alice Cooper’s Halloween Night Of Fear’ and new album Welcome 2 My Nightmare, out in
September as well his classic material, taking it back to its roots on the Detroit garage rock scene.
“It’s been a while since we played such an intimate venue,” says Alice, “but strip away the theatrics and we are a pedal-to-the-metal rock band,
born in clubs like the 100 Club. We play every show like that anyway and it will be fantastic to reconnect in that atmosphere. This show comes
with a health warning - ‘We don’t do acoustic, this will be loud’.”
With Steve Hunter, one of rock’s great guitarists, added to the band’s line-up of guitarists Damon Johnson and Tommy Henriksen, bassist Chuck
Garric, and drummer Glen Sobel, Alice Cooper has been tearing up festivals across Europe and is a roll.
Last week, he was honoured with the Kerrang! Icon Award, this week he hosted Metal Hammer’s Golden Gods and announced the UK October tour,
extending his reign of terror to Sheffield, Bristol, Birmingham, London’s Alexandra Palace, Manchester and Glasgow.
But the insatiable Alice wants more. In London, he is calling together the spectacular ghouls, depraved weirdos and the hottest fire starters. Last
year, Alice took on the role of a sadistic Simon Cowell by judging the auditions for freaks who shocked and grossed out the fans in equal measure. This
year, he is hunting down spectacular fire acts and VERY bizarre performance artists to bring that hellishly warm glow to the night.
“It takes a lot to shock me,” says Alice, “But last year even my stomach was churning, Britain really has got freaks. That’s what’s Halloween is all
about. It’s my favourite time of the year, bring on the gore!”
Auditions are June 27th in London’s Hyde park. Just like last year, go to alicecooper.com to submit audition tapes by June 22nd. Audition
show producers Wake Up Productions will choose the line up and 3 acts will be picked by Alice and a panel of judge on the night to perform on
stage October 29th at Alexandra Palace. There, the audience will decide the winner.
The night will be London’s largest costume party with cash prizes. Last year at the Roundhouse, hundreds of people showed up in costume….this year
thousands.
The legendary New York Dolls join as support and Alice’s band has been described as the best he has ever worked with.
New album Welcome 2 My Nightmare, the sequel to 1975’s classic Welcome To My Nightmare will be released prior to the gigs in September. Once
again produced with Bob Ezrin, it will feature in the new shows. The original spawned a worldwide, full theatrical tour so expect Alice’s comic book cruelty
to be taken up a notch.

ENTER SHIKARI
+ YOUR DEMISE + letlive.
UK & IRELAND TOUR - AUTUMN 2011

www.entershikari.com
It has been nearly two years since Enter Shikari last undertook a full UK headline tour.
Sure, there’s been the occasional burst of home turf activity… the most pronounced of which being either the four headline dates in February 2010 (which resulted in the Blackpool Empress Ballroom’s roof falling in, and ended with the band’s biggest headline show to date at London’s 5,000 capacity Hammersmith Apollo), or the stint with 30 Seconds To Mars around the arenas and sheds in December 2010. But we’re talking proper “get in the bus and go the length and breadth of the island, playing a full set and and being allowed use of the showers” type touring.
So it is with great pleasure that we get to announce a stint of sixteen shows for this coming Autumn, taking in some of the more ‘intimate’ UK venues the band has played in quite a while.
For this October’s run of UK and Irish dates, the band have invited friends / fellow Hertfordshire hardcore outfit Your Demise, and explosive LA combo letlive. to join them, continuing the killer bill that will cross mainland Europe together throughout September.
To add an extra frisson of danger to the proceedings, and taking the cue from the good gentlemen of Mumford & Sons (credit where credit is due), the English / Welsh dates of this tour will be promoted directly by Enter Shikari / Ambush Reality, rather than via a national promoter such as LiveNation, SJM etc, a natural step on from the band’s DIY stance of releasing recordings via Ambush Reality. Tickets will be initially available solely through www.entershikari.com via their arrangement with Music Glue.
Despite being away from UK touring thus far in 2011, the band have certainly not been resting on their laurels.
A short Texas tour, three weeks album recording in Thailand followed by two weeks in London, the release of a brand new single - ‘Quelle Surprise’ - back in May, best part of two months on Warped Tour in North America June / July, the release of a live CD & 2DVD set (entitled ‘Live From Planet Earth’ and released July 11th), main stage performances at the Reading / Leeds Festivals, and a brief tour of Russia… that is what Enter Shikari will have tucked under their belts before they start the real work for this year… what you been upto?

The River 68’s

‘Winning melodies, I suspect many will fall for their charms’ –Andrew Geddes, The Herald
The River 68’s are one of the country’s most exciting up and coming rock bands formed by brothers Craig (lead vocals & guitar) and Christian McCabe (lead guitar) with long time friend and musical comrade Gerry Loughrey (bass). The band have a definite vintage sound and tip their collective hats to bands such as Led Zeppelin, The Black Crowes, The Faces and The Rolling Stones, all of who have inspired the band to compose their own songs and take their music to the live stage.
‘Just The Way (That You Do It)’ is the first single to be taken from their debut album and platforms the bands mastery of their instruments and perfect melodies, with frontman Craig McCabe showcasing his raw and powerful voice. Their music has a definite swagger, with a mix of classic and tuneful rock, mixed with intertwining harmonies and tinged with an air of gentle blues, which is perfectly reflected in their motto ‘it is and ever shall be all about the music.’
Relentless local gigging has turned the band into a formidable live force, and since the band’s formation they have been making all the right noises they recently opened for the hugely successful Rock Radio 4th Birthday bash, as well as taking to the stage as headliners at King Tut’s New Year Revolutions festival. The band are set to headline at the highly influential and respected ‘Go North’ Festival in July, rubbing shoulders with Scotland’s finest new bands, proving the far reaching effects the River 68’s are having across the British music scene. With their debut album due out later this year, this is just the start of things to come. With such an abundance of enthusiasm, charm and talent, if this is the way that they do it, this band is going far.
